The WHO defines health as a combination of physical, mental, and social well-being. Since its inception, the Texas School of Mental Health has focused on raising awareness about mental health. Pre-COVID, we adopted unique methods by integrating philosophy, religion, culture, and sports with mental health. Post-COVID, we have identified issue-based community groupings to address their mental health concerns systematically and organized. We have concentrated on global issues such as cancer, obesity, pregnancy, and internet addiction.
Community mental health is essential for fostering a supportive and resilient society. Our approach emphasizes providing accessible mental health services, promoting awareness, and encouraging open dialogue to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Our programs integrate mental health with elements like the Gita, cricket, and yoga through community workshops, support groups, and outreach initiatives designed to educate and empower individuals to seek help and support each other.
