Cancer is a critical public health issue, impacting millions of people worldwide. It remains one of the leading causes of death highlighting the growing importance of Psycho-Oncology in addressing the psychological, social, and emotional needs of cancer patients and their families. At the Texas School of Mental Health, we recognized the significant mental health impact of cancer on individuals living with the disease, their families, caregivers, volunteers, and healthcare professionals.
In response, we established the world’s first Independent Center for Psycho-Oncology on July 2, 2023, in Pune, India with the mission of improving their quality of life. We understand that cancer affects more than just the body; it impacts the mind and spirit as well.
