Texas School of Mental Health Inducts 3rd Batch of PG Diploma in Psycho-Oncology
The Texas School of Mental Health (TSMH) welcomed its 3rd Batch of the Postgraduate Diploma in Psycho-Oncology (PGDPO) with a three-day induction program. The event brought together academic leaders, healthcare professionals, and students, laying the foundation for a transformative journey into this specialized field.
The inaugural session featured inspiring addresses from Dr. Girish Lad, Founder & Chairman of TSMH, and Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, Director of TSMH-UAE, who emphasized the global importance of psycho-oncology. Dr. Josh Briley, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas, joined as the Chief Guest and shared insights into integrating psychology with oncology practice. The session was anchored by Ms. Alafiya Vora, Psychologist & Academic Coordinator, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Narendra Nigalye, Director of TSMH-USA.
The orientation program, conducted by Dr. Tahreen Syed, Director & Head of the Center for Psycho-Oncology, introduced students to the course structure, faculty team, and the scope of psycho-oncology in cancer care. Ms. Alafiya Vora facilitated the session and engaged students with a clear overview of expectations and opportunities.
The induction concluded with a Learning Management System (LMS) training session, led by Mr. Khushal Khule, Mr. Prajwal Chand, and Ms. Nishigandha Patil, equipping students with the digital tools and academic guidelines essential for their studies.
The successful completion of the induction program for the 3rd Batch of PGDPO reaffirmed TSMH’s commitment to blending science with empathy and preparing professionals capable of making a lasting impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families.
