Texas School of Mental Health is proud to share that Ms. Megha Deuskar represented TSMH at the prestigious COSA IPOS 2025 Convention organized jointly by the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) and the International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS).
Along with collaborators Dr. Girish Lad and Dr. Tahreen Syed, Director and Center Head for Psycho-Oncology at Texas School of Mental Health, she presented a research study focused on Shared Decision Making among Indian cancer patients from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
The research paper received an extremely positive response and generated meaningful academic as well as social discussions during the conference. This achievement reflects TSMH’s continuous commitment towards advancing psycho-oncology, patient-centered care, and impactful research.
An inspiring session at the Pink Caravan event, Al Jada. Dr. Girish Lad, Founder-President of Texas School of Mental Health, conducted a powerful workshop on “Scanxiety: Understanding and Overcoming the Fear of Cancer.”
The workshop was organized by Friends of Cancer Patients, Sharjah, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The session focused on spreading awareness, hope, and emotional strength — one conversation at a time.
The Texas School of Mental Health is proud to share that our work in Psycho-oncology was presented at the 6th Emirates Oncology Society (EOS) Annual Conference 2025 in Dubai.
Dr. Tahreen Syed, Global Head – Psycho Oncology, presented a poster highlighting the critical role of mental health and psychosocial support in the cancer journey.
While the conference was largely centered on clinical oncology, this representation brought attention to the need for an integrated model of care, where medical treatment and mental health support go hand in hand.
We thank the Emirates Oncology Society for providing a platform that recognizes and values the contribution of psycho-oncology to global cancer care.
